Pedestrian and Cyclist bridge Lillestrøm

The bridge will enhance connectivity along the riverbank as a crucial part of an overarching urban development strategy, helping to better link Strømmen and Lillestrøm. Measures that facilitate safe and efficient pedestrian and cycling connections will be especially important to strengthen the focus on green mobility.

The bridge concept aims to provide the best possible connection to access roads while offering a sculptural and visual quality making it a clearly defined local landmark. The chosen construction avoids a dominant and voluminous impact on the landscape, featuring a compact and slender main beam.

The soft S-shape introduces movement and dynamism to the bridge structure. Resting on a double pillar, the design minimally impacts the northern landscape, while the form highlights the bridge span in the south, contrasting with the staircase/pier facility and the bridges massive abutment.
